What We Do to Represent You, our Autistic Community

Updated: Aug 3, 2023

Our directors sit on advisory boards for the NHS, the North Wales Police, Welsh Government, the Greater Manchester Autism Consortium and more.

Until now, a lack of representation of autistic people in research and service design has led to available knowledge that is based on a narrow range of stories, often provided by outdated textbooks and/or parent/carers rather than from autistic people themselves.

We are working to change that.

We are now beginning to see our work over the last few years having an effect, especially in Wales.

But that's not all - we are also beginning to address the urgent need for post-diagnostic support for Autistic adults, by providing Peer Support. Currently this is online, and we are looking to develop this into a hybrid model, as well as ensuring that support can be offered throughout England and Wales. It will take time to do this, and we will make sure we post updates to keep everyone informed of progress.
